I used those three spices in addition to salt, pepper and onions.
I really like this sandwich maker. It was only $20 but it has been put into good use. I made a nice "pizza" sandwich a couple of weeks ago with this. Yummy...
Anyway, back to the potato sandwiches.
I peeled and diced the potatoes. Boiled it in water till it was soft (I might have overdone it). After that was done, I grilled the onions, threw in the potatoes and mixed in the spices.
Putting the filling on the bread...
Bam! And there it is.
Overall, I was satisfied with my sandwich. The filling wasn't the best though. It was a bit bland. I tried to add more salt but I didn't go crazy with it because I was afraid that I was going to make it too salty. I also think it was lacking some ingredient. Not sure what that is yet. I guess I'll do a little more research and try it again next time!
Gotta have my ketchup/tabasco sauce dip. The sandwich wouldn't be the same without it.
I used five potatoes and so I was able to make 3 extra. One was eaten by the family and I packed two for lunch this week.
Tempted to eat one right now but it's late and I know I shouldn't...
I think you need more spices - peppers or mustard maybe? I saw the other sandwich and it reminds me of something my friend's mom made when we were kids - similar to an Aloo curry mix.
ReplyDeletewerd.... when I get one?
ReplyDeleteIt kinda looks like the inside of a samosa :P
ReplyDeleteYea, I was actually going for the taste of a samosa filling. I gotta mess around with it some more before I can actually offer it to people.
ReplyDeleteGlad to know some of us are cooking! Can't wait to try it!
