I remember it was just years ago that I didn't even know what a lobster roll tasted like. The first couple I had didn't interest me at all. Way too much mayo for my taste. But during my Maine trip last year, I was introduced to another version of it and have been in love with it since...too bad I don't live in Maine though.
Well, I have just discovered the next best thing...luke's lobster.
This is a pretty small place. You should probably think of it as a take out place than an actual sit in restaurant. The sitting area is really small as it sits maybe about 8 people. Both times I went though, I've been lucky enough to get seats.
I got myself the lobster combo...lobster roll, pickle, chips and a drink.
I'm not a root beer expert as I just started to like it but this one was pretty good in my books. Plus, I love drinking from glass bottles.

What can I say? This was pretty good. Nice fresh lobster on a warm butter roll with a light strip of mayo and butter... They put a pretty decent amount of meat on here too. Oh, and there's some sort of seasoning on top. Not sure what it is but I like it.
I've had this two weeks in a row now and I'm ready for my third trip...

Friend got this and said it was pretty good. I think I'll give this a try next time although I find it kinda pricey.

So overall, I would definitely recommend this place especially if you like lobster rolls that aren't drenched in mayo or butter. Also, the price is pretty decent imo.

ReplyDeleteIn the article, it says that they are open till the wee hours of the morning. I guess they make enough now that they no longer have to do that!
It would be nice if they did though...hmmm..rolls as my midnight snack...probably not a good idea for my belly.
