Craved sushi today for some reason and since my friend remembered hearing good things about this place, we decided to satisfy that craving here.
The place is pretty small. I think it sits about 15-20 people max?
Here's the menu.
Nice green tea on a cold day.
And our meal...
I got the courage to try raw fish today!
Eel Avocado Roll - $5.50 |
These eel rolls were pretty good. I think the eel had a nice crunch to it. I've never had eel that was cooked to that point but I liked it. My only complaint is that it didn't have enough eel in it.
Marilyn Monroe Roll - $13.50 |
Man, I don't remember what kind of fish these two items are. Friend ordered them. I think the item on the right is Sea Urchin.
Salmon - $3.25 |
I can't remember if this was spicy tuna or spicy salmon. I think it's the former. Again, I couldn't really pick up the taste on my first piece. I did pick up something a few pieces later but not enough for me to form an opinion again. I guess raw fish is just really bland? Not sure what it is. I think I have to keep on trying it and hopefully, I'll be able to appreciate it.
So overall, this place was pretty good. Service was good and according to my friend, the sushi was fresh. I don't mind coming back here again.

You got the names correct. The one on the left is Toro/Fatty tuna.

Also I believe sushi has "strong" flavors. The better prepared sushi has a soft and melt in your mouth texture. Slight flavoring comes from the sauce the chef may or may not put on it.
I meant to say I don't think sushi is supposed to have "strong" flavors.
ReplyDeleteSushi looks so good! I'm craving it but I don't think I can get myself to eat raw fish...the texture.
ReplyDeleteyeah, that's what I used to say too. It's really not that bad. Not sure what's so great about it yet though.
